Position:       Shipping & Receiving Associate

Summary:  
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for knowing what needs to ship each day and identifying in-house work orders that need expediting to remain on or ahead of schedule. This position will review customer order requirements, create packing lists and invoices, coordinate shipments from customer portals, pull proper quantities from inventory, package and label parts for shipment, ensuring that all pre-shipping customer requirements are met.  The Associate helps maintain a secure and organized stockroom by assuring an accurate perpetual inventory is kept, as well as opening and receiving raw material, tooling, consumables and subcontracted parts on a daily basis. This position will help to ensure related information is shared in a timely way as appropriate across all department lines to avoid unexpected problems or delays.  This is a full time position and may require overtime from time to time.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:                   

  • Working with the Lead Shipping Associate, determine what needs to ship each day, identifying in-house work orders that need expediting to remain on or ahead of schedule
  • Review customer order requirements, create packing lists and invoices, coordinate shipments from customer portals, pull proper quantities from inventory, package and label parts for shipment
  • Ensure that all pre-shipping requirements are met and the proper certificates and documentation are included in the shipments
  • Prepare and promptly ship all subcontractor shipments
  • Open and receive raw material, tooling, consumables and subcontracted parts daily, making necessary data entries and scanning documents
  • Assist the DSQRs by updating any packaging procedures as needed
  • Process all government orders and coordinate with the Government inspectors as required
  • Coordinate with Quality personnel for final shipping approval before boxes are sealed
  • Update the MRP system (INFOR by Visual) as needed and confirm all data entry and finished good information is correct
  • Assist with physical inventory counting and entering of count record, entering all issues and receipts on a daily basis to keep inventory accurate and up to date to maintain a secure and organized stockroom, assisting with weekly and yearly cycle counts and ensuring accuracy
  • Assist with printing paperwork and delivering to shop floor
  • Assist with maintaining stock levels of all shipping supplies
  • Assist with maintaining and managing expiring materials and consumables
  • Assist in developing part-specific packaging requirements
  • Oversee any production personnel assigned to packaging orders
  • Assist with creating subcontract purchase orders, preparing subcontract parts for delivery, and  tracking delivery
  • Process orders Domestic/International on preferred shipping system (e.g. UPS, FEDEX, DHL, Freight Carriers)
  • Assist in documenting procedures and ensuring Work Instructions are correct as written
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Cross-train in all areas of the Materials Department to build your skill set
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Adhere to all AS9100, ISO and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner and demonstrate Tri-Mack Values:  Respect, Teamwork, Integrity, Accountability and Durability
  • All other duties and special projects assigned by your Manager

Required Education, Skills & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace experience a plus
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Strong computer and data entry skills including Microsoft Office
  • Precision in data entry, order tracking, and compliance documentation needed
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP procurement software required (INFOR Visual Manufacturing a plus)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at a time unassisted and to stand for a long period of time
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
  • Good administration skills, including written and verbal as well as basic math skills
  • Organized and able to handle multiple tasks while paying close attention to details and specifics, manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accurate records
  • Reliable, accountable and able to learn quickly and to get along with others, work independently, and reliably work your scheduled hours
